Henry Winkler auctioning off Happy Days memorabilia including Fonzie’s iconic brown leather jacket

Happy Days fans now have a chance to take a bite out of the classic sitcom.

Henry Winkler, 76, sells a number of iconic props and costumes the actor wore during his six-decade acting career, which began in the early 1970s.

Among the items for sale, if the price is right, are clothing items that Winkler wore when he portrayed the iconic character, Arthur Fonzarelli, known as ‘The Fonz’ and ‘Fonzie’, according to CNN.

Arguably the most unique element: the brown Fonzie leather jacket. In a sign of the significance of Happy Days and Fonzie, one of the leather jackets is on display at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington, DC.

Combined, Fonzie’s complete outfit consisting of Levi’s jeans, white T-shirt, black engineer boots and leather jacket is expected to sell for between $50,000 and $80,000, to me Bonhams The auction will take place on December 8th.

A Bonhams representative added that Fonzie’s silver Triumph motorcycle, which has been driven throughout ABC’s 10-year run, is expected to sell for between $80,000 and $120,000.

Other valuables included Fonzie’s mech coats, a uniform from his US Army Reserve mission, and the cowboy boots worn in Season 6’s Ranch Dude episodes.

There are also scripts from the series, Pictures, letters, and items from other projects Winkler has created over the years are for sale.

Happy Days, which gave viewers a beautiful view of life in the 1950s and early 1960s, premiered in January 1974, and ended to wow audiences to continue with 255 half-hour episodes through its eleventh season, ending in 1984.

I will never say goodbye because he is always in my heart and always on my mind. Winkler told CNN affiliate KABC:

“Allowing something physical to go does not, in any way, diminish the enormity of the experience.”

Much of the proceeds from the sale of the items will be donated to a non-profit organization started by his daughter Zoe and two friends to help separated and recently reunited families at the US border.

Winkler took to Twitter to share a promotional photo of him wearing a brown leather jacket for the auction, which will take place on December 8 at 10 AM PT.
