With victory in sight, ‘Dancing With the Stars’ finalist JoJo Siwa ditched her trademark hair bow to debut a glamorous new look.
The singer and social media personality dazzled the red carpet Sunday night at the 2021 American Music Awards in Los Angeles, presenting a Pop Duo or Group Favorite – which went to BTS.

Known for her multicolored outfits and high ponytails, the Nickelodeon star rocks a floor-length black evening dress with a low cut, her hair flowing down her back.

Siwa said the dress, which consisted of a sheer ruffled skirt and an off-the-shoulder part, was her mother’s choice.

In an interview on the red carpet via Twitter by Access Hollywood, the 18-year-old said, “I sent my mom to the store. I said ‘Mom, I need a mature costume.'”

Her sparkly heels were courtesy of her professional dance partner on the show, Gina Johnson.

“Gina showed up today, she brought me high heels. She bought me my first pair of Louboutins,” Siwa said on the red carpet.

In addition to the shoes, Johnson also gave her some tips on how to walk in them. “We did a rumba on Dancing with the Stars a few weeks ago and Jenna told me to walk a rumba,” Siwa said.

Siwa added with a smile, “I’ve been walking in Rumba every step I take and that helps me.”

Siwa and Johnson are the first two women to dance together in 30 seasons of the hit show. Siwa opened up about her sexuality in January, saying that she is a member of the LGBTQ+ community and is in a relationship.

Siwa’s influence extends far and wide, with over 60.5 million followers on social media and over 3.6 billion views on YouTube. According to the official Dancing With the Stars website, more than 80 million world-famous JoJo Siwa bows have been purchased so far.

At the end of the season later on Monday, Siwa and Johnson face a dance with NBA basketball star Iman Shumpert, talk show co-host Amanda Kloots and Peloton coach Cody Rigsby—and their professional dance partners.

Sewa and Johnson will perform a Tango and Cha Cha Fusion dance to Ikona Pop’s “I Love It”, followed by a freestyle dance to Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.”
