Want to bring a badass foam blaster to your next Nerf War – or gift one to a child or child at heart who is very grateful this holiday. Good news: The Nerf Rival Perses, arguably the best official blaster ever made, costs just $ 50 at Walmart’s Cyber Monday sale.
Normally $ 100, this is a fully automatic SMG-style blaster that packs 50 long-range bouncing foam rounds into its hopper and dispenses them at up to eight rounds per second. Plus, you won’t need to buy big bulky alkaline batteries for this one. It comes with its own rechargeable NiMH battery and charger, unlike virtually every other Hasbro blaster on the market.
Just be aware that it’s a bit too big for small children. At over five pounds and with big, muscular handles, it’ll be a pre-teen, teenager, or late adult who’s ready to lift that.
While the Persians might be the pinnacle of official Nerf blasters (its successor the Mach-100 isn’t that hot), it’s not the pinnacle of the Nerf. You can tweak it for even more horsepower, add an aftermarket hopper (example) for even more capacity, or try something from another company or even a local blaster to get the most out of the sport. But if you’re looking to spend around $ 50, you can also briefly consider the Adventure Force Nexus Pro at $ 49. While not for sale and lacking the rate of fire of a Persians, it is preferable for accurate blasting outdoors.
There are plenty of other pretty weak gravy blasters on sale this Cyber Monday, but I’ve spotted a handful more that might deserve your attention. Also note that Target is offering a two-for-one buy-in sale on all Nerf toys.
