Student loan repayment benefits for civilian workers in 2021

Employer-provided student loan repayment benefits were available to 4 percent of civilian workers in March 2021. Seven percent of workers in management, professional, and related occupations had access to student loan repayment benefits.

For workers with an average wage in the highest 10 percent, 9 percent had access to student loan repayment benefits. Two percent of workers with an average wage in the lowest 10 percent had access to the benefit.

Student loan repayment is a benefit that provides support to employees for education already obtained and excludes ongoing education expenses.
